The West Sussex Learning Network was started as part of the South East Action for Communities Strategy the 'Laying the Foundations' project to develop personal, community development and leisure learning (PCDL). It brought together a range of partners from the statutory, community and voluntary sectors to look at local adult and community learning needs and to widen participation amongst those who have benefited least from government funding in the past, particularly in areas of deprivation. We also want to help create a 'demand led' system where your voice, and the needs of the potential learners with whom you work, are taken into account.
Our Steering Group is drawn from a wide range of partner agencies and is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of PCDL across West Sussex. All partners share a commitment to adult and community learning and are working together to widen participation for new groups of learners.
