Two new schemes have been launched by the Government to boost online access. Low income families will benefit from the Home Access Programme (www.homeaccess.org.uk) which provides grants for them to buy computers and get access to broadband.
The second scheme is an online learning programme called 'online basics' (www.onlinebasics.co.uk ). It's free and allows learners to learn how to use a mouse and a keyboard, how to e-mail, how to search for information and how to stay safe. It can be accessed from home or at most West Sussex County Council Libraries.
